The Ever-Pump Rotator Arm Stop and Roller Assembly, manufactured by Element Energy Solutions, is an innovative patented device that ensures the rotator works reliably thereby extending the life of your sucker rod and tube while reducing production downtime due to catastropic failure.

In a typical well pumping at 10 strokes per minute, the rod will move against the tubing 14400 times per day. This constant up and down movement of the sucker rod creates excessive friction between the rod and tubing which can result in premature rod and tubing failures due to excessive or uneven wear. The standard approach to mitigating this type of wear is through the use of a rod rotator that rotates the the sucker rod in the stuffing box on every stroke to even out and minimize local wear. Typically the rotator is activated by an actuator, controlled through the use of cables that extend upwards to a fixed portion of the rig. This configuration can become problematic if the cable is cut, entangled, or otherwise disengaged from the rig. Additional cables may be present that carry wires to a load cell or well head instrumentation all of which can become twisted or entangled in high winds.

Ever-Pump’s patented Rotator Arm Stop and Roller Assembly seeks to provide an innovative means to activate the sucker rod rotator and for the secure attachment of such means that is more reliable and will not jam or corrode with extended use.

The Ever-Pump Rotator Arm Stop and Roller Assembly Saddle Bracket w/Roller are sold as kits, comprising a saddle bracket w/roller, arm stop w/clamp, and include a variety of clamps to provide a safe and secure attachment to the wellhead. Pipe extensions threaded at one end to fit the Saddle Bracket are supported by the clamp and are not sold with the kits. The actuator is kept laterally positioned by the arm stop and rotates the rotator when the actuator is engaged and urged upward by roller handle. The roller is supported by a Y-shaped saddle to avoid catching on the upstroke of the pumping unit should these members become laterally separated. The device is capable of retro-fitting to an existing sucker rod actuator by eliminating a cable to the arm of the actuator and deploying an arm stop member to support the handle in a horizontal orientation until it contacts the roller.

Arm Stop w/clamp – prevents the actuator from falling down and keeps it laterally positioned, preventing the rotator arm from going past 90°

Saddle Bracket w/roller –

  • roller rotates with each stroke preventing wear in a single spot by the actuator extending compenent life
  • the actuator handle is urged upward when contacting the roller handle eliminating the need for any overhead cables
  • the roller handle is of sufficient width assuring contact with the actuator handle
  • the sloped arms preclude the snagging of the actuator arm and should such an event occur they allow for re-adjustments in place
  • roller is constructed of rubber or plastic cladding over a metal core that as such is non-conductive precluding electrolysis of the pumping unit when used with the extended insulator tube.
  • Saddle Bracket is supported by a pipe extension of varying lengths

Spacing Clamp

  • supports the pipe extension and roller assembly, sufficiently spaced away from the wellhead
  • the various spacing clamps connect to the wellhead with each one configured for a specific location configurations
  • the various clamps are constucted of corrosion resistant materials

Extended Insulator Tube w/plate –

  • insulating tube is manufactured from cast nylon and possesses strong dielectric properties
  • is deployed between the sucker rod rotator and carrier plate and is self lubricating
  • no metal to metal contact
  • prevents electrical continuity to the rod string reducing the potential for galvanic corrosion and electrolysis
  • hanger can be bored out to fit the insulator tube
  • threaded at one end The Ever-Pump Rotator Arm Stop and Roller Assembly Saddle Bracket w/Roller are sold as kits, comprising a saddle bracket w/roller, arm stop w/clamp, and include a variety of clamps to provide a safe and secure attachment to the wellhead.
